I have a couple who got married in 1869 but can find no trace of them on any census since , No children nothing ,do you think its possible they emigrated Many on here have tried to find them for me but nothing. |

Before the days of the internet, I didn't realise just how many of my rellies did emigrate. Canada censuses can be searched for free. 1881 is on familysearch. Index for 1901 is on Automated Genealogyhttp://automatedgenealogy(.)com/index.html, with links to the original censuses and they are working on 1911. NSW records can be searched for births and deaths: http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ and there must be lots of sites for New Zealand, America etc Good luck. (PS Sorry for wasting your time last night!) |

hello again Georgina yes I was lucky enough to have been in touch with Steve he has researched the Sigstons from way back, its amazing what he told me ,but he doesnt know what happened to them either its so frustrating as I was hoping to find they had children and go forward to see if they have any living rellies , thanks very much for looking The funny thing is her mother died the same month and year she got married ,so I have sent for the death cert hoping she may have been an informant or something |

Richard in Perth | Report | 23 May 2006 15:03 |
Hi Valerie If you contacted the relevant records office (not register office) for Leeds they might be able to send you a photocopy of the entry in the parish register. This usually works out cheaper than an official cert, especially as you now know the year and church, so there's minimal searching involved. The register entry will have identical info to the cert - i.e. will give you her father's name but not her mother's. Cheers Richard |

Kate | Report | 23 May 2006 15:06 |
You could look to see if you can find a likely death for John Thomas Keen between the two marriage dates. Kate. |

Richard in Perth | Report | 23 May 2006 15:10 |
I did have a look for that Kate - the only one on FreeBMD that sort of fits is: Deaths Mar 1872 Keen John Thomas 23 Bicester 3a 447 But age is a couple of years out, and wrong area? Of course, FreeBMD is not complete so maybe not transcribed yet... |
