yes Im sure its the right family. The naems would be too much of a coincidence. There are white and black Mapps from this area of Virginia. I'm not sure exactly how that came about. The original Mapps were plantation owners out there so presumeably either some of the slaves took the name of the plantation owner or there was some intermarrying somewhere along the way. |

Hi mea Sorry the father of these children is an Arthur , not sure about the mothers name. Firstly id like to find out his father's middle initial and date of birth - I know there was a n Arthur D Mapp born in 1874? is he the father? Then if possible find out who Arthur's parents/siblings were. I should then be able to fit them into a larger tree that connects back to some of my ancestors in the UK. Many thanks Wade |

Has anyone got acces to US ancestry and could help me help a distant US cousin? The family is MAPP of Northampton or Accomack Counties, Virginia My cousin's father was Harry/Harold Mapp born c 1911 one of around 15 children including Eugene, Viola (twins), Catherine, Hezzie, Bess, Mildred, Florence, Dorothy, Arthur, Anna, Rudolph Ive looked at UK Ancestry and Rudolph seems to have been born around 1907.
