Burslem is colloquially known as 'Boslem' to locals, if that helps. Liz

I am trying to trace my great grandad and have got as far as the 1861 census ( i have got joseph and both his marriages and children on the 1881/1891/1901 ) but not 1871 or 1851 or 1841. he was called joseph barlow born 1839 in malpas cheshire and his father was john barlow born 1811 in boslain staffordshire this is him on the 1861 Welsh census Elizabeth Barlow abt 1803 Merton, Hampshire, England Wife Halghton Flintshire John Barlow abt 1811 Boslain, Staffordshire, England Head Halghton Flintshire Joseph Barlow abt 1839 Malpas, Cheshire, England Son Halghton Flintshire any info anyone can give me on joseph or john in 1841-51-71-census or as to where boslain might be ? the 1901-1891-1881 census have them living on lancashire so they are on the english census but the 1861 is on the welsh census hope this makes sense . sorry if i dont get back to you till later as i am off to work many thanks linda x x
