After burying myself in Tudsburys all weekend looking at about 80 christenings in one village over 250 years and cross referencing with Hugh wallis covering the local villages, british origins ,ancestry and some details sent from archives offices,I had created about 23 families-only problem was linking them and filling in a few gaping holes.>>>>looked up the Guild of One name Studies- A Jennifer Tudbury(no S) has been looking into name variants.........i emailed her and have this morning recieved confirmation that she herself is researching the same families in the village and has produced a tree which is my bloodline going back to 1627 at least !!!! most of my work seems to have been right but she has linked the lineage.

Well done! Amd it is much better doing it that way round as you are both independently coming to the same conclusions.

Yes Jenny has produced a sheet with all the details and I have about 90% of them but hadnt linked the families fully-so its not like Ive had it on aplate-I guess I have been given the final shove over the wall !

You've obviously both worked a long time on this so it's great to find you've got the same line. One Name Study researchers can be a great help. My friend is one and spent over 3 hours last week on an e mail to someone who wrote with a query.... ( complicated family, where Dad kept changing his name so my friend needed all the references to link all the parts of the story) It's a 2 way exchange of information sometimes and it's a shame that more people are not aware of the help that could be out there for their family name.
