Hi, thoughts on this please... My grandmother was a pedestrian hit by a motor car in 1968, she passed away from shocking injuries. There were two inquests, leading to death by mis-adventure. This happened in Birmingham, I employed a researcher to look for any paper articles and they found nothing.... isn't this a little unusual? My only option now it seems is to write to the coroner, although there is a 75 year closure but I am the only surviving relation.... Anyone had similar? Thanks Lisa

Hi, I had a relation (a 4 year old boy) who drowned in a cesspool at Wells Next the Sea. I never found nothing in the old newspapers either and the coroners reports have not survived. I thought it strange that such a young child's death didn't even rate a mention. Cheers, Horatia

I suppose ... how can this be worded without sounding off.... where did you find the researcher and how much did you owe them at the end of the search that found nothing? Jess x

Hi Jess, You don't sound off at all, would have been my first thought if the shoe was on the other foot! I used the local studies and archive department at B/ham Library, they sent me the cheque back! Just very surprised that nothing was reported,

Hi Sue, Me too, when I first spoke to the researcher and said there were two inquests he was surprised and did say in his opinion that a report would be in the paper.
