birth record

i think ive found my great great grandmother in the census records of 1861 and 1871 (right location and age) however i cant seem to find a birth record for her any where. ideas anyone? her name was Elixabeth A Cox(A fior Anna) born in 1856 in Upwey Weymouth. that is all the details i have at the moment

Christine, I don´t know where you looked but if its any help I searched on Ancestry BMD complete images http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx - free to search. Started with 1856 - didn´t find her there so went 1 year either side.

if the one above does proove to be her whay would she have been a cox and not a bartlett? thank you all for the help. i try the full free imaging but never seem to come up with much.

yes - see what you mean. 1861 census for reference Elizabeth Cox abt 1836 Monkton, Dorset, England Head Upwey Dorset Elizabeth A Cox abt 1856 Upwey, Dorset, England Daughter Upwey Dorset John Cox abt 1858 Upwey, Dorset, England Son Upwey Dorset William C Cox abt 1860 Upwey, Dorset, England Son Upwey Dorset No husband present on census - but Elizabeth senior listed as married, occ. masons labourers wife.
