The registration district would be Auckland.........not Durham. Have you checked the FULL records on Ancestry? Not just the freebmd extracts............. Reg |

Still no sign of her as a birth! not sure where else to look! Is it possible that her name could have been mispelt when registered, Surname maybe? |

She is an extremely complicated lady. In 1901 she is living with a man named John Oneil in Durham and she is Frances H Oneil but i cannot find a marriage for them. Then in 1908 she had my G.Grandmother with a man named Alexander Hindle. On the birth certificate it say Frances Newby formally Oneil as if Oneil was her maiden name. I am stuck! She called herself by so many names etc that i don't know which way to turn next!! |

Did she marry you could look up how she spelt her name on her wedding certificate. Irene |

I found that Francis Newby born 1878 but when i looked on the census there is actually a male Francis born in 1878 on the 1891 census. I have looked on Free BMD and on Ancestry. |

I am looking for my g.g.grandmother. Her name was Frances Hannah Newby. I have found her on censuses so from them i know her birth was 1876ish but i have searched and searched and cannot find her birth registered anywhere. She was born in Durham or maybe Yorkshire and her parents were John and Mary. Can anyone help with how i can find her birth, surely it must have been registered? Hayley x |
