Thank you again. I have a lot of fun with this lot as Caroline's grandfather was born in Prussia- blooming sailors! It does sound like something unmentionable doesn't it?

lol... Pippa sorry but cant help laughing... 'A Dutch Dyman' sounds a bit rude dont you think? Anyway Im glad you found your Dykman was a Dagmar! Perhaps he changed his name slightly, I know a lot of foriegners did. I wish you luck in trying to trace his ancestry! Suzanne

Victoria and William James are family names. So all this time I have been looking for a Dutch Dykman and it was wrong!

I am starting to think that perhaps the marriage was mis-transcribed?

Thank you!!! I had almost given up hope. The Blakes are Caroline's mother's family. Her mother was Elizabeth Blake. Now I just have to figure out what they are transcribed as with the GRO.

Caroline Sudder married Henri Dijikman or Dykman a Dutch sailor in 1879 however I cannot find her after this. More than likely very badly transcribed. This is her family in 1871 very badly trascribed: Emma Ludder abt 1860 Gorleston, Suffolk, England Daughter Great Yarmouth Norfolk Victoria Ludder abt 1864 Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England Daughter Great Yarmouth Norfolk Caroline Sudder abt 1859 Yorleston, Suffolk, England Daughter Great Yarmouth Norfolk Elizabeth Sudder abt 1821 Yorleston, Suffolk, England Head Great Yarmouth Norfolk Ellen Sudder abt 1849 Yorleston, Suffolk, England Daughter Great Yarmouth Norfolk James Sudder abt 1854 Yorleston, Suffolk, England Son Great Yarmouth Norfolk Thanks
