OK, I have been looking for members of (hopefully) this branch of my Hickton family for years without any success. Free BDM have just shown up with the death of Caroline Hickton age 16, in Aston in 1876. She is about the right age to be my Caroline who I last found in 1861 at age 2 living with her father Samuel Hickton, mother Emma and Sam's stepfather George Allen, in Warwick. I had searched for the family myself on the 1871 but could not find them. I now do not have ready access to Ancestry. Can anyone find any trace of a Caroline Hickton in 1871? Caroline is not a name commonly used in Hickton families so there should only be this one and hopefully shes mine!!!!! Cheers Christine in NZ

Sorry, forgot that bit! Yes that is them in 1861. I have been unable to find any more children in the family after that census. Caroline's birth is on Free BDM as Warwick and Sam and Emma's marriage is there as well.

The only likely candidate I've found so far is this Caroline. Joseph Hicken abt 1837 Birmm Head Birmingham Warwickshire Ann Hicken abt 1836 Birmm Wife Birmingham Warwickshire >>Caroline Hicken abt 1861 Birmm Daughter Birmingham Warwickshire Mary A Hicken abt 1864 Birmm Daughter Birmingham Warwickshire Harriett M Hicken abt 1870 Birmm Daughter Birmingham Warwickshire She doesn't fit with your Hicktons, but she might be the Caroline who died in Aston.

That could well be the one Mary. I guess the only way to find out for sure is to get the certificate. It does confirm for me that there are other possibilities. I have been unable to find any trace of any of the family after 1861 anywhere so it makes sense that she was not my Caroline. Thanks for your help. Regards Christine in NZ
