Can anyone please tell me which registration district Worksop would have been in the 1930's. I am looking for a marriage. Cheers Max and Joan

I don't know which county Worksop is in - as far as I'm concerned the tundra sets in a Milton Keynes! - but there's a list of reg districts here: www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/reg/ nell

Worksop was a district on vol 7b it is in north notts WORKSOP REGISTRATION DISTRICT Registration County : Nottinghamshire. Created : 1.7.1837. Sub-districts : Anston; Carburton; Carlton; Worksop. GRO volumes : XV (1837-51); 7b (1852-1930). Parishes in Derbyshire (1837-1930): Barlborough, Clowne, Elmton, Whitwell. Parishes in Nottinghamshire (1837-1930): Blyth, Carburton, Carlton in Lindrick, Cuckney, Harworth, Hodsock, Holbeck, Nether Langwith, Norton, Styrrup, Wallingwells, Welbeck, Woodhouse Hall, Worksop. Parishes in Yorkshire West Riding (1837-1930): Dinnington, Firbeck, Gildingwells, Harthill with Woodall, Letwell, North and South Anston, St. Johns with Throapham, Thorpe Salvin, Todwick, Wales, Wallingwells (1837-95), Woodsetts. Registers now divided between Worksop, Rotherham and Chesterfield districts. Roy
