i have my great grandfathers mother name and i know her occupation...im not sure when or where she was born....do i go for the census first?

I would go on Ancestry, do an exact search with the information you know.

Do you know when she married - her marriage cert would have her age on it. nell

i dont know if she ever did get married. my great grand father was illigitamate. my grandmother thought her father was born in weymouth tho he was registered in southampton (shes not the most reliable source)
