Thanks everyone, I knew it was Roman Numerals but had a blank on which was which. (I knew L was 100 lol) Thanks. Wrong yet again. L 50 c 100 (thanks Margaret.)

If it's the oldest records it's Roman numerals so II would be 2

It's actually 2.........Roman Numerals were used in the early days of GRO 20 would be XX Reg

In the indexes, what does II mean in the volume section, is it volume one or twenty, thanks. ....................(I really should know this lol)
