Trying to find birth date of Walter J Savage have found to-day he was married to Jane Savage nee Cross believe walter born London about 1870? Daughter born 1895 and Son Walter dob not known. Any Help Please Carol

Theres a lot of Walter Savages born about right time. Including a Walter J whose dad is a shirt manufacturer. Seems unlikely his son would become a waiter. The only way you are going to find right one is to buy his marriage certificate and get his fathers name and occupation.

You need to buy his marriage cert: Marriages Dec 1894 Cross Jane Holborn 1b 1262 Savage Walter James Holborn 1b 1262 This will tell you approximately what year he was born, also have his father's name. Richard

You can search the birth indices online at www.ancestry. co.uk, look for the bmd beta section. You will have to register, but that section is free to search. Liz
