Lord, as I sit and think of my past And the many questions I should have asked To those old old ladies and old old men And wonder what life was like back then I pick a name, and search a site Hoping the one I found is right Then follow it back year by year To find that strangly they disappear Did she move? Marry? Get kidnapped? or Die? Other people found her, Why can't I? With dates and names rushing round my head I think less of the living now, more of the dead Lord please, give me a break Half the records ive searched seem fake With made up dates and made up names Im really not in the mood for games Lord, come on, Miss Abigail Rimes The one who changed her name 6 times Divorced 3 men and had 9 sons And you think we're the complicated ones Lord, I sit here and wonder why I carry this on, I try and try Then I think of my family of now and then Smile and pick my pen up again
