Hi, Ive just emailed the world authority on watermen - so if he replies guys I will let you know. But FWIW, it sounds to be like someone who cleans the river of debris. Important job, planks of wood and the like could cause big probs for river traffic. |

I did a search on tips board, there is a post there saying vestry is like another word for council, so he could have been a vestry waterman as in somehow working for the council with something for rivers? |

hiya i agree with chalgrove rd, but i dont agree on estry, is definately says Vestry, if you look at clara Vincent two families up from thomas bird, the V for Vincent is the same as occupation julie |
