Thank you Sharon. I went onto the website and e-mailed one of their experts. She asked me to send a scaned copy to them and she would pass it on to the relievent department. Keeeping my fingers crossed for a good out come. Thanks again. Vanessa

I recall my father who was in the Navy WW2 telling me that as far as uniforms went they had different uniforms depending on if they were working or if it was dress I think that what would tell them apart would be their hat bands. Certain markings would denote rank. There are a few examples on the National martime museums website, http://www.nmm.ac.uk/collections/index.cfm They may be able to help confirm? Good luck! Sharon

I have a photo of an unknown sailor in our family tin. I have been trying to find out which regiment he could have been in and roughly when he was in it so i can have a rough idea on who he may be. My brother feels he may be our grandfather on my dads side but i am in two minds. Any help please? Vanessa
