The site did have a lot of problems when it first started, but they seem to have sorted them out now. I am not too sure whether you get the maiden name of mothers on all of the birth entries. I have a feeling that it only on the last few years or so before 1920.

You don't get parents names on births though - it's the same info as on Ancestry, 1837online and FreeBMD - i.e. just the index, not the details. From 1911 onwards, mother's maiden surname is shown in the index however. Richard

Yes lots of us have used it and its best feature is the name searchable 1866-1920 period. Any other period is covered on the 1837/ancestry bmd index. As Ive said before, its SO useful for the 1866-1920 as you enter an event, name, time period and area (if you want) and bring up every match - ONLY use one first name otherwise it glitches. If you have an unusual surname you can bring up every birth, death and marriage for the period for the whole country and for just a few units and then use the info for mapping the movements of the family - brill. Only just noticed the query about parents names - nope, you will have to buy a certificate for that info. Mothers maiden names from late 1911 only.

I have been looking at Family Relative Org and am considering buying some units. Has anyone used it, and has it been worth it. I currently also have membership of Ancestry but note from previous postings that names of parents on births is available from this site, is this correct? Advice from anyone would be appreciated. Gill
