Hi Darksecretz, It is a bit of a struggle to watch them through I must admit. Boring was one word that came to mind - then they come up with odd bits that are interesting. Today's was ok. It was Lawrence of Arabia and the relationship was something like 2nd cousin once removed. Involved births out of wedlock (Lawrence himself!!) Snowdrops |

Hi, I've watched bits of quite a few episodes, but found them quite disappointing. They give a lot of detail on the various ancestors, but give no indication as to how the information was obtained, which is what I would have been more interested in. Lynn |

Something that really annoys me about it is, for example, 'Lawrence of Arabia was related to Sir Walter Raleigh, and you are related to Lawrence of Arabia, so you must be related to Sir Walter Raleigh'. Well, only by marriage, there were no shared genes, so I don't count that as being related. And the sloppy use of the word 'ancestor' all the way through every episode! I like the bits about the subject's own ancestors, but not so much the bits about the famous person. Kate. |

Yes Kate, I agree with you, the links are so tenuous you can see straight through them!!!! Snowdrops |

Do they pick someone at random and try to find out if they are related to someone famous, or the other way round? It's no wonder the links are so tenuous really, it would take them forever. However, I'm pleased they're repeating the first series of the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are on UKTV History. All worth seeing again, and tips on 'how to' as well. |

They started with the famous people and tried to find somebody related to them, however distantly! Kate. |

It's on UK TV History at 9 a.m. and I think it is 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Last one today, but then it is repeated next week at 8 a.m. and I don't know what other times without looking at the listings! Kate. |

I agree, it has been a disappointment. I watched Florence Nightingale and Wellington and didn't bother any more. They just don't give enough info on how they find out details about people, which is what I want to know. Although I did see a facial resemblance between the youngsters and their respective 'ancestor'. Speaking of which, on WDYTYA the first time around I remember how shocked I was when Amanda Redman visited her cousin in Liverpool. They were like two peas in a pod. Also Bill Oddy and his cousin but to a slightly lesser extent. |

The Lawrence of Arabia one was better. The chap on there (Guy de la thingumybob) is very knowledgeable but when he explains stuff to people he does it while walking along - and he is drowned out by traffic noise! They have the look of set pieces. Not a patch on WDYTYA! Cheers, Horatia |

I was so looking forward to seeing this the other night (Wellington) but have to say I feel asleep only to wake right at the end bit! Funny but when researching on Ancestry I can stay awake until 1pm....... |
