Hi Ann, It very much depends on the time frame and where the births took place....... So....when and where please (roughly)? Do you want to give the details of the cert you have received, so others can help, or just be given some ideas? Merry

If the events were pre-1901, you should be able to find some, if not all, offspring on census. If after 1901, and before 1911, it will be tricky. If it's after 1911, the birth reg'ns carry the mother's maiden surname, so you can look for births with the appropriate pairing of names. All bmd's are free on Ancestry...............so all it will cost you is time. I hope for your sake the names are fairly unusual............... Reg

Ann unless she came to England I think you are going to find it hard getting more info on her. Georgina.

Ann, you can look through the Irish BMD indexes at a LDS (Mormon Church) Family History Centre, but assuming that Toomey is a fairly common name I don't know how you would pick out the children that belonged to your family. You could certainly look through the marriage index there for John and Eliza's marriage, though, and then get their marriage certificate. You might be able to find them on the Irish 1901 census and see what children they have with them then, also the 1911? The Canadians are actually working on getting those censuses indexes and available online, and I believe they are starting with Dublin, but you may have to wait a few months to be able to search online. Kate.

Ann, no, sorry, like I said, you would have to go to an LDS Church Family History Centre to look at the indexes. There is not much Irish stuff available online yet. Well, or you could go to Ireland to look at them (assuming you aren't there already?) Kate.
