Can you believe I just found the marriage? lol Was just searching again, under just his name, and up they pop. She must've been married to someone else before him! The 1990s births are registered under that name too! lol That'll teach me for thinking people only married once lol

Kate, I guess anything's possible :) Elaine, good to see you! I'm glad you decided to come back :) Meercat, I just did a search up to 2003 (I think - wherever Ancestry finishes) and there was no sign of their marriage. He has an odd surname, so I thought it'd be easy to find them. Perhaps they married under completely different names.

Hi Tracey, Last time I personally came across this, I found the parents marriage under the same qtr and year as the latest birth entries ....... turns out that the parents got married and whilst at the registry office, they re registered the children's births that same day ...... ........... just another angle to try ... Elaine ;-)

Tracy, is it possible they got married abroad? Kate.

Hi, I've seen re-registering when a child has had their surname changed and like you when looking through BMD I've also come across a name of individuals registered for example say 1953 where it say alongside 'see J'55'. Goto July 1995 and you'll find them registered there again. I though it odd but never asked why. Doesn't answer your question sorry, but maybe someone can answer both. Cheers Paul

I haven't found a marriage at all for them. I guessed that they may have married before 1984 (unlikely, but possible). I just checked the birth index again, but they are not under the mothers name.

Could it be that their parents were not married when they were born but later got married and reregistered the births after their marriage? I know we were told we could do this when we registered our children's births. (If the parents were not married then the 1990's registrations are probably indexed under both surnames.) Kate.

I was just looking for some births in the 1990s, and found the ones I wanted. Query I have is, the same children are registered in 2001, in the same month. Why would they have been re-registered? All other details are exactly the same.
