Well, the licensee will be on the census, he would have applied for a licence - so possibly the record still exists, you may try a google to see if there is a local Pub History society in the area? |

Does anyone know where I might find information on The Fighting Cocks it is shown in Pigots Directory 1828 in Chetwynd End near Newport in Shropshire. Also where will I be able to find more information about the liscencee Many thanks for replies I ahve the info you told me about. I am trying to find more info to see if it refers to my family as I have a couple of likely candidates |
