Maz - that name Howzego is unusual isn't it? I'm reminded of Fred Housego, the taxi driver who became a TV personality after winning Mastermind. I wonder what happened to him.

If you do find that an image is missing (not just that the names have been mistranscribed), then do please report it to Ancestry (click on the ''having problems viewing this image?'' link at the top-right of the page). I have reported several missing pages, and they've all appeared after the next database update. Richard

Before 1910 ancestry has a copy (older copy) of FreeBMD's transcriptions of BMD's but even FreeBMD is incomplete http://freebmd.rootsweb(.)com/ If you are looking at the images, ancestry has a number of pages that have been mistranscripbed because names have been added later. so you could try a wildcard (use smi* instead of smith). If you want to pay for images try: www.familyrelatives.org (familyrelatives have 1866 to 1920 fully transcribed) www.1837online(.)com/ remove ()

The quick way is to go on 1837 online, but you have to pay. www.1837online*com replace * with . I'm sure an expert will tell you how to try to track down 'missing' quarters on ancestry, and if you don't mind spending a bit more time on it it is worth a try (but I'm afraid I don't usually bother if the quarter seems to be missing so I can't explain how to do it, I just go on 1837 online instead!) Kate.

I had this today - was searching for an unusual name - Howzego - on the missing quarters it turned out that one page ended Howson and the next started Hoy - so no Howzego for sure! BUT be careful cos I also saw one today where a name had been added in pen at the bottom of the page and the dozy twit who transcribed it had put THAT one as the last name - durrrr !!! If you want to see the missing page, then you have to put in a different surname, but really close to the one you want or you will have to trawl through loads of pages. For Howzego I put Hows* and it took me straight to it. Hope this helps! Maz. XX
