Hi Does anyone know any history to Pwllcrochan near Angle Bay please? In 1267 the MART family were allowed to 'raise a pond' there (a tidal pool which is still there today). I'd like to know what happened to the MARTs and the area, plus any previous history to them and the area. I'm really intreged by it. Can anyone please help or suggest ways forward? Could anyone look in the Victoria County History for Pembroke, or Welsh alternative for me please? Pwllcrochan was called Porttrahan back in 1267. Carole |

If you go to this site and then click on Angle, i found this, One Ralph Beneger of Bangeston rebuilt Pwllcrochan Church in 1342. It contains two inscriptions recording his name, and an effigy of him in his canonical habit, as Rector. http://home.clara.net/tirbach/HelpPagepearlsPEM2.html#Angle you may find more on that page.
