Adoption-advice please

A relative's son-in-law was adopted in the 1960s in England. His adoptive parents wouldn't give him any information and he's upset that he doesn't know anything about his family. He now lives in Australia. How could he get information about his birth and adoption? I'd welcome any help, thank you. Heather |
