My G.Grandmother won the pools (can't remember what year). Don't think she won a lot but it made it into the papers! My Aunt still has the cutting as my Nan saved it.

Major pools companies would have been Littlewoods and Vernons, both based, I believe, in Liverpool - think Littlewoods at least is still in operation - a 'ggogle' might help. Might also be worth a look at the local papers of the time in the area your uncle lived - would have been big news in those days. Regards Looby

There is rumour in the family that some uncle won the pools in the 1950's. Is there anyway of checking this? Thanks in advance. Suzy
