Mary Ellen Gordon born 1875 in Liverpool. Parents Charles and Jane. Parents seem to have died between 1881-1891. Mary Ellen marries Abraham Rigby 1896 in Everton, Liverpool but where is she in 1891 anyone please? In 1901 married and working as a milliner, still in Liverpool. |

Bless you - saw that one aswell, not her Im afraid. (she is wife to the John on there) I do reckon they may have gone back to Ireland to their grandparents or relatives as my mother in law always said her mum (this Mary Ellen) spoke with a strong Irish accent. I guess if she went back to Ireland from Liverpool when she were still only a child she would have picked up/kept that accent rather than a Liverpudlian one. I will do a bit more trawling but I cant find her or any of her siblings at the moment. |

THAT is very very likely! Ive found mums death (Jane) but Ive not found Charles yet. Oh that is so wonderful of you thanks so much. Now, that has made me feel better cos 2 years ago I found the rest of the family in 1901 in Bootle. Can you believe that I cant find them now. Ive even got the ref for the 1901 and cant see them. I am thinking I must have bought units on the 1901 census back then before I had ancestry. Does make you wonder how accurate ancestry is sometimes. MANY THANKS, rushing off to see this lot. |

Oh dear, No its not them, the father is shown as a sailor from North Carolina, not a bootmaker from Ireland! Back to the drawing board! Thanks for trying though. |
