Is there anyone that can please help with American census around 1868 - 1873 My g.grandmother was born in America, her family was not on the G.B 1871 census but was on 1861 and 1881. On the 1881 I realised that while they had been away in America they had two children. I was wondering what they were doing over there. I have Ancestry but not the de luxe, so I can't get U.S.A, census Jean

YOu can do a pay-per-view type thing on ancestry. Last time I did it I think it was about £4.50 for 4 days viewing of ALL the ancestry lists, including the American Census dates. You can also get free looks at the 1881 us census on familysearch .org

Thanks Carol, I'll see what I can find. Never thought of using 'pay as you go'
