i'm trying to find the parents, brothers and sisters, of my dads dad Geoffrey, i know he was born in Winsford Somerset, Dulverton, and his mothers name was Dance,Geoffrey had three children with Kathleen Taylor(1920), David(1940), Suzanne(1952) and Mary Rose(1941) who died at about 9 months.

We could do with some idea of when he might have been born. If it was before 1901, he will be on the census. If it was after 1911, the mother's maiden surname will be listed on the GRO records, so making it easier to find. All bmd's are free on Ancestry.............you need to register with the site, but no charge is made. Reg

No sign of a marriage from 1912-1920 between a Butler and a Dance?

Have you got geofrreys birth cert? If yes then what were his parents full names?

Presumably G A K was about same age as Miss Taylor so he was born also about 1920 ?? and guess he married Mis Taylor about 1938/40 in which case you should be able to find them both and also the name of HIS father from the marriage cert ? No trace of a Butler birth in Somerset from 1890 onward - to about 1914. and if his name was GEOFFREY too then he should appear on the 1901 census. or have I got the info screwed up ??

Angela You need the birth cert...........it will give you the full names of both of Geoffrey's parents. The details you need to order it online have been posted above by Suzanne. Reg

Hi thanks to everyone that tried to help me in my search, I have found the marriage if G A K to Kathleen she was using her step fathers name, that is also the reason I could not find my father! I have ordered the B/C. Once again thanks, I don’t often ask for help, I did post this twice, but was told from the other posting I would be better asking in this one, being new to this side of things I only did what was suggested, sorry if I have upset anyone.
