Hi Carole, I don't know whether you've found this family yet on the 1851 census at 'Knaphill', Horsell, Surrey , does this help at all? Richard DOVER - Head - married - 55 - farmer of 103 acres employing 5 lab. - born Surrey (Is it Worplesdon? I don't know the Surrey area at all) Jane DOVER - wife - marr. - 50 something (can't make out 2nd figure there's a line through it) born Woking (Ancestry's index has her age wrong, being born in 1846) Richard LEE - grandson - 13 - scholar - born Horsell Ann LEE - niece - unmarried - line through second figure again, looks like 18 - house servant - born Horsell There's also a William HARDING and James COLLYER on there as ag. labs. Hope this could help you? Best wishes John |

Have you looked on the 1851 census for both of them, may give you an idea if they were born in the same area, sounds silly but it you go fowards up to 1901 you may pick up information that will possibly help you to work backwards |
