I have not used gedcom files up to now, but they seem to be the standard way of storing tree information. Can anyone recommend a good, free, gedcom editor/viewer? I am not looking for anything too fancy but would like to be able to write, edit and view gedcom files. Is there any free software out there that does a decent job?

Hi Ian The free PAF software from LDS allows you to import and export gedcoms. Heather

As Heather says, the PAF is a good, free, basic program. If you're just looking for a program that enables you to view a gedcom file try http://mudcreeksoftware(.)com/genviewer_lite.htm Remove brackets David
