Just a tip Kim, Title your thread,In the next box type 'see below' then type your whole whole question, as beautifully laid out as you like. THEN, 'cut' the lot (except 'see below') Post your title, reply to it immediately by pasting in your question. Your question won't get scrunched & you won't leave us all wondering what it was!! Sarah :-)

Kim I understand why you're going mad - have found a number of options for James, but none living with a famliy to prove a link with George. If George was alive in 1841 - then trying to find him may be the best way forward as you know his profession. However having looked for him there are no obvious candidates Good Luck Kay

James( a labourer) married Marianne (Mary Ann) Wilson a servant (born Whitechapel ) in 1843 ,her mother was Priscilla Wilson and father Charles Wilson a mariner. Catherine Piercey and John Samuel Smith were witness. They married in St Leonard's, Shoreditch but gave address as Swan Alley, City of London. Their Illegitmate first child John was born (whitechapel ) in 1837/8 but not sure if he was a Piercey or a Wilson. I can't find any of these people on 1841 . Do you think they were living in a cave?
