I've tried sevral times to update my tree now using both IE6 and Firefox. My FH Software is FH v3. With Firefox I get a message telling me that the gedcom is empty! With IE the import box (that you're not supposed to close) just never seems to complete the upload. Its only a small-ish file with 70 or so individuals and no media, but the import box was still on my screen after half an hour!. I've e-mailed support for help, but if anyone has any advice I'd be grateful. Thanks, Sharon Chester, UK |

I'm not sure about this and it's only a GUESS but it MAY be down to the fact that FH gedcoms (unlike FTM gedcoms) can contain links to media, if you had any photos in your FH file there's a possibility that the added media links in the gedcom were not recognised by the GR upload and it rejected the file. Hi Ian I must admit that I've never had that problem, although what I did do accidentally once was leave my son on the Gedcom. This meant that I wasn't the first person in the tree. I had to delete him from my software, export the Gedcom, and then put him back on again afterwards. Hope you get it sorted, Mandy :) |

Hi, I just got an 'unexpected error', which was unexpected :) It did not accept the tree at all. |

Hi What sort of problem are you having? I have 3 trees on GR (birth, adoptive and hubby's). I regularly update them from my FTM software and did so this week. One of them is fine but the other two are totally jumbled. My Dad's parents are both called Unknown Unknown, and my poor husband isn't attached to any parents at all. I've checked and double-checked, and there's certainly nothing wrong with my Gedcoms. In despair, I've mailed GR to get them to sort it out but I'm not holding my breath for a prompt reply! Mandy :) |

Hi there, Has anyone else had problems recently importing GED files into GR? I am trying to import a file generated by Family Historian v3. Thanks! |
