LATEST NEWS OF THE 1911 CENSUS There have been rumours that the 1911 England & Wales Census returns had been damaged over the years, and concern that this might prevent the census being released in 2012 as planned. But according to an article in 'Your Family Tree', whilst many of the enumerators' books have not survived, the forms completed by householders have - with less than 5% requiring extensive conservation work. This is great news - though it's going to be a big project for the National Archives, because compared to the 1901 Census there's 14 times as much paperwork to film and digitise! Just got this in May newsletter

But as it also says in the newsletter 4 years ago there were no census at all online ,who knows what information will be available by 2012,bet all the parish records will be on soon as theres nothing left to do now except 1911 census and parish records.Its so exciting waiting to see whats new every month.
