I have not found anything new, just links to the registers I already new about. They claim about a million records at present with another update promised next week. As a volunteer project it will depend how enthusiastic volunteers are in your area. The search facility seems quite good. Anne

HI everyone, I have just been on Freereg and it is very limited in the information it is coming up with - but it is working to some degree though not all counties are on it. Regards Leigh

I have just tried FreeReg again, and the search engine appears to be turned on! Has anyone successfully found any ancestors yet?

I got that message too. Fraid this is too long coming - I've lost interest in the whole project now. I had thought of volunteering to help but it doesn't ever seem to get anywhere so I've gone off the idea. If they just put something up that could be accessed everywhere - for example a couple of small parish registers - at least that would give people confidence that more is to come. Angela.

Anyone with any idea how FreeReg is going? The earliest post I could find was July 2003 and I noticed the last post was in October 2005, it said that FreeReg would be up and running soon. What a pity they don't put something on the website to give an idea of how they are going. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't listed in the monthly family history books and on websites as site to look at. Jean in Brisbane
