Have added this to another thread but thought it would be useful to others. Being new I only found it last night. If you find quarter missing, Click on nearest quarter and when loaded click on year at top ie. 1947> jul/aug/sep>c This will bring up all quarters for that year, click of the one you want. Next screen click on the Letter of the surname your wanting. This should bring up the quarter that was missing but unfortunately you will have to trawl through until you get the name you want of take a guess at the page number can be alittle quicker. This has worked for me so far and at least you don't have to go to 1837 to find missing quarter. Jen

Good tip Jennifer. So far I have managed with missing pages but thought missing quarters were impossible to find! Anne

Excuse me for resurrecting this threadbut I juscan't find a missing page! Am looking for a marriage Warner to Mellish in 1940. I'm using ancestry beta can't find the relevant page even though using the above tip I can find missing quarters. Does anyone out there know if that means the pages just don't exist any longer? Or will I have to go and view the fiche at the library? If I'm just doing it wrong can someone please put me out of my misery. Thanks Lizzie

No, there are some pages missing from Ancestry, even after finding the missing qtrs. You will have to either visit the library to view the fiche or ask if anyone has a few spare 1837online credits to spare. Kath. x

Thanks Kathleen. I was starting to believe it was some sort of conspiracy..What are the chances of both sets of pages for BOTH names being missing!? Maybe this is fate saying that I should 'finish' my family before I start on his... Lizzie

Lizzie Have looked on 1837 for you, but cannot find a Mellish to a Warner. Is it def 1940? Linda

Sorry for the delay in repling. Sadly family need feeding sometimes! I'm not definitely sure it's 1940,although that's what I was told, certainly no later (unless they're fibbing), but not much earlier. I've looked at all the available pages for Jan to April 1940 and pages 442 and 409 for Mellish and 391 and 417 for Warner aren't there. Entry page nos, not acrobat pages that is. Soooo frustrating as the library's shut til Tuesday. Lizzie

A quick way of finding missing quarters is to put in a common name on the search which is just before the one you are looking for and then you only have to forward one or two pages - For instance if I was looking for a 'Durkin' and the quarter was missing I would put the name 'Dunn' and hey presto I will get two pages of Dunns and the name I want will be on the next page - usually works! Thought I would nudge this up. I was looking for someone on Ancestry and there were several missing quarters for the years I was looking. Thought I would look on here for a solution and hey presto there is one. What a brilliant board this is. Sue

There are some missing quarters on Ancestry. I need a marriage in December quarter 1925 ...but it's not there but it can wait until next month, when I can check at a Record Office. Gwyn
