how to get war records

Sam Did you have to fill in one of the SARs forms? They seem more for recent service men. My grandfather served in the First World War but the forms don't seem relevant to this. It is not very clear to me where to apply for WWI. Can you advise please? Jennie |

Just to add, they will cost £30 and you need consent of the next of kin and also need to provide a copy of the death certificate. I sent for my grandad's WWII records and received them in about 4 weeks. Sam x |

hi my dad served in the army during WW11 and i would like to get his war record as he is dead and so i do not know much about this part of his life how do i get a copy thanks hannah |
