Thanks for finding her! Thats brilliant. I hate not being able to solve mysteries and this one is really frustrating me - how can a whole family just disappear.

Have just checked on the information I recorded on here to see if I could find out his occupation. Alfred was a Labourer when he married and a Tractor Engine Driver in 1904.

Richard was a Farm Labourer I think (dont have the certificate to hand at the moment). Cant remember Alfred. Their daughter that I have infromation for was born in 1904 in Berkshire. Their was at least 2 mores daughters, but information on that line is so sketchy, I have no idea if they would be alive on the 1901. Queenie, Cissie and possibly Dolly.

What was Richard and Alfred's occupations at the marriage date? Could you post the 1901 for Mary? Might Alfred have been in South Africa for the Boer War in 1901? Merry

I am trying to track down my gg grandfathers family, but the only record I can find of him is the marriage to my gg grandmother in 1897. His name on his marriage certificate is Alfred John Cox. he married Mary Ann Miles in 1897 in Hungerford, Berkshire. Alfred was 21 at the time of the marriage - which would make is dob c 1876. His father was a Richard Cox. I am unable to find any record of him on any census. How can someone be 'invisible' until they marriage and then not appear with his wife on the 1901? Any ideas of where to go would be much appreciated.
