don't know about overseas deaths, but only one possible death 1908-20 in the ordinary GRO index Tredgett Arthur J , age 33, Rochford 4a 1168, Oct-Dec 1918 ps -- that's a mistranscription by FamilyRelatives, looking at the image it's actually Romford

Sally I have a few ancestors who change theyre name so I would of thought John Arthur and Arthur John could well be the same person What are the fathers name What are the ages of John/ Arthur and his bride from the M/C and her name Im pretty sure you didnt need to show a copy of a B/C when getting married. Can I just re-arrange makes it easier to read Dear All I am having trouble in getting to grips with my ggrandfather known to me as John Arthur Tredgett married in December 1908 (listed on Ancestry - but ggrandmother not) but have a copy marriage certificate. would he have not been required to show a birth certificate when he got married or did this practice come in at a much later date. but I can find no reference to his birth (although a possible is listed as Arthur John Tredgett 1884) maybe he was known as John to his friends I also have his son's birth certificate which lists father as John Arthur I also have no reference to his death although believed to have died in WW1 - have checked many war sites under both john and Arthur to no avail please all help and suggestions greatly received Sally
