Marriage Registration details: Name: Bloy, Charles W Year: 1920 District: Rotherham Quarter: April - June Volume: ?9c Page: 193? Bride's name: Ross I have put the ? as the Volume and Page Number are hard to read even under 200x magnification. Wonder if 1837online would have a clearer image. Joy

Hi Roy, yes that's him. Alice is with her parents (father Enoch Ross) on the 1901. Thanks Joy, I think I'll have to take the risk and order it. This will be the first certificate I've ordered on dad's side so fingers crossed! Thank you both very much Jayne x

That's her Roy. I've looked on Ancestry and 1837 online and can't find the marriage listed. Is it because I'm not a paying member that I can't view that far forward? They only go to 1910 or so. Jayne x

Ancestry is free at the moment 1837online you have to pay to view the images otherwise all you get is the listings of where what you're looking for might be. Joy

Jayne, On Ancestry click on England & Wales, FreeBMD Index: 1837-1983, then to the right of the search box there is another box with Search the complete England & Wales, BMD Index: 1837-1983 now! click on that link, then follow your nose. Roy

Hi Jayne

I am glad you found your grand-mothers details. This is an old thread, but perhaps you can help me.

I am very interested in the boarder that was staying with the Ross family, a John Darby. Do you happen to know anything about him?

I have a grandfather John Edward Darby who is proving to be elusive. I have no idea where he was born or who his siblings were. Any information from you would be wonderful.

As far as I am aware, John Darby left for South Africa and married a Lilian Florence Bristow in the early 1900s and then had 5 children (4 sons and a daughter).

Kind regards

Richard Darby
