Great website about Convicts transported to Australia/New Zealand. Lists of names and also books to buy. Includes quite a lot of Irish convicts. Happy Hunting Linda http://member*iinet*net*au/~perthdps/convicts/index*html |

There are quite a few convicts to Australia on this site, just look under Emigration, Immigration. http://www(.)ormond(.)i8(.)com/ - Remove Brackets. Georgina. |

Thanks Georgina, I particularly liked this site as is charts the ship that my husbands GGGGGrandfather was on. The Calcutta was the first convict boat that landed and named Hobart and John's name is mentioned. Linda |

Hi Linda - got in this time - thanks. I MAY have found a distant relative who seems to have murdered his wife in 1856 - name Joseph Ankers - BUT wouldn't you know it?? - I can't find him on 1851 census and, of course by 1861 he would have been transported and his wifeMartha was obviously dead !! He had 6 children though but as I don't know their names I will probably never link him up. Hey Ho !! - Such is life ! Thanks anyway - It's a brilliant site - I will have another look later. Dea x |
