You won't be able to get a birth cert for Ellen, but you might be able to find a Baptism entry. She was born before civil registration. Check the IGI first, but you might need the Surrey Parish Recods. (or London/Middlesex)

were are a hot blooded family lol and i thought they didnt do that sort of stuff in those days lol so maybe i will be able to send for his birth cert angie xxx

i dont know what to do know perhaps get ellens birth cert to see who her parents were also going to get lucys birth cert as iv got lots of census info for her thanks to every one who has helped as for frederick im totally lost he could of been married b4 and after edwin was born but never to ellen angie xxx

Angela, it's all the same guy. He was married when Edwin was born. Must've had an affair with Ellen. Wonder why he was on the birth cert though.... lol My theory - Edwin was never told his fathers name, only that he was a Grocer. Hence the marriage cert.

no there was no formally know as for ellen rodds on edwins birth cert have marriage cert for edwin and have his sons birth cert and marriage cert all with name rodds angie xx
