Hi Louise On this site you can't access anyone's family tree unless they give you permission. You can search for a name and it will give a list, with birth years and places of birth but it won't then tell you that person's brothers or sisters. If someone has contaced you and knows four peoples details, they will have had to search for the four names individually, they can't lookup one and then get the info for the other three. Hope this makes sense! Sam

Louise I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. You have to give permission for someone else to see your tree, but there was concern a while ago that when you sent anyone a message you automatically gave them permission to see your tree. Not sure if that still applies. But you can research anyone else's family as easily as your own - the births, marriages, deaths and census info in the public domain can be accessed by anyone. nell

Hello, I added my family tree for two reasons 1) to show my daughter her family tree and 2) to allow a adopted sister find me if she so wished. I have since been contacted and has confirmed all my siblings details!! How wonderful is the thought that I may already be contacted by my adopted sister!! However... I am a complete novice and haven't searched on anyone before and would like to know how much info can one get without having access to a family tree? I have four other siblings and this person has named all of them.... do you think I have been contacted by her or could it be that you can access anothers tree without permission?? Any help would be greatly appreciated Louise
