Hi Irene Great news! I'm currently on a similar trail myself, both sets of 4xgrandparents had a child just born inside civil reg whereas the rest were pre 1837. Am now trying to track down birth certs for both the children to give me much needed clues and it's good to hear that you've been successful and there might be hope for me! Lou

My gt.gt.gdf. was born before 1837 so could not order a copy of his birth certificate to clarify his parents names. I was sure I had found the marriage of his parents in the parish records. Some kind person on GR did a census look up for me and there was a little sister born 1841 when his mother was in her 40's. I ordered the sister's birth certificate which arrived this morning confirming the names of my gt.gt.gt. grandparents. So I am a very happy bunny today. It proves we can get there in the end so do not give up. Good Luck to you all. Irene ps and I forgot to mention gt.gt.gt.gdm was a tough one had the baby 1st Feb and she registered the birth 2nd Feb.
