There's also a Bowden near Altrincham

Yes could have been misspelt and should have been Bowden near chapel en le Frith. or misheard and been Bolton Abigail

Eric Thanks for that. Seems as though it is in Cheshire although it isn't showing up on Multimap. Marion It's a good job you're on the ball! lol. To be honest my head is spinning from looking at censuses tonight so I hadn't even thought about it! I'll give all of your ideas a go in the morning - it's about time I went to bed Thanks Jeanette x

Hi Jeanette There is a Bowdon south of Manchester. I don't know if this could be the place and they have spelt it wrongly. Just a thought. Regards Eric Cross

I have just found some rellies on the census and was wondering if a visitor they had at the time tied into the family. She gives her place of birth as Boden, Lancs. Now, I can't find it on the map (the image looks like Boden too). Any ideas anyone? If you want to have a look at the image it is the 1881 RG11/4763, Folio 10, Page 13. Thanks. Jeanette x
