In 1871 Amelia is only just born: Emily Drew 12 South Creake, Norfolk, England Sister-in-law South Creake Norfolk Amelia Moy 1 month South Creake, Norfolk, England Daughter South Creake Norfolk Eleanor Moy 4 South Creake, Norfolk, England Daughter South Creake Norfolk Mary A Moy 30 South Creake, Norfolk, England Wife South Creake Norfolk William Moy 30 South Creake, Norfolk, England Head South Creake Norfolk William Orton 10 South Creake, Norfolk, England Son South Creake Norfolk I'm only adding these in because, sometimes, you have to go back to go forwards... A name from the past crops up later on to confirm (or at least, be persuasive of) the identity of a name when there's more than one to choose from. Christine

Christine, you def have the right family, she was born in Norfolk. Im just intrigued as to why Lazarus would start calling himself John if it is him on the 1901. I havent traced his birth for sure. Ive found a Lazarus born in Postland Lincs but dont know if its him. I wanted to go back a generation but Ive come to a stop, but thanks for your help.

I found Amelia in 1881 along with her 'visitor' (sister) of 1891 and the rest of her family. (I suppose it could be a cousin and family with very parallel names?): Amelia Moy abt 1870 Norfolk, England Daughter Wansford Eleanor Moy abt 1867 C...ake, Norfolk, England Daughter Wansford Louisa M. Moy abt 1877 Frodingham, Yorkshire, England Daughter Wansford Mary A. Moy abt 1839 Barsham, Norfolk, England Wife Wansford Wm. Moy abt 1837 Barsham, Norfolk, England Head Wansford Intriguing to find she was born in Norfolk, not Lincolnshire. Christine

Yes Georgina you have a point there! The ages are similar but it says on the 1901 they where born in Wath, and Lazarus was born in Lincs and Amelia in Norfolk, but hey with a name like that he probably changed it to John! Thanks for that its given me something to think about.

Yes Christine, that is them! They are in the 1891 census but I can only find their children in the 1901 living with different Greens. Im wondering if Lazarus had a brother John but cant tie the names together to trace them any further.

My g grandparents Lazarus and Amelia Green appear in the 1891 census living at Lund, near Beverley Yorks. They have a daughter Beatrice 4mths. Their son William(my grandad) was born in 1896 in Hatfield,Herts so they must have moved down there. In the 1901 census Beatrice and William are living with John and Millie Green at Wath back up in Yorkshire. Cant find Lazarus or Amelia anywhere. Im wondering if they died but cant find any death record for either of them,it just seems strange that they both disappeared. Can anyone help, none of my family seem to know anything. Thanks Carole xx
