I personally found the 'UK & Ireland' subscription useful but not any of the others. > Also, I'm currently still using FTM version 6. Is it worth > upgrading to FTM2005 Definitely. I made the same upgrade step about 3 months ago and have been able to make a lot of use of the extra features in FTM2005 over those in version 6. There is an FTM online help forum at genealogy(.)com which is worthwhile having a look at. It has a lot of useful 'how too' information associated with it for detail things (like how do I determine which records I have associated with any particular Master Source etc, etc). > and if so, which version, out of Starter, Deluxe and > Collector's IMO, get the least expensive update you can. The extra CDs and trial subscriptions etc add little value but are OK if you can get them for little extra cost. There is a good deal on the Deluxe edition on in the UK at the moment... see other messages in this forum for details. Cheers, Bill Sydney, Australia

I've been looking at the Family Tree Maker website and some of the searches I've carried out have encouraged me to take out a subscription to view information. Can anyone tell me if they have found a subscription useful? The data that I've been able to access looks as though it is mainly for the US. Does it include much UK data? Also, I'm currently still using FTM version 6. Is it worth upgrading to FTM2005 and if so, which version, out of Starter, Deluxe and Collector's bearing in mind that most of my research is based in UK rather than US? All advice much appreciated, Kate (always seeking my RANNcestors)
