Thanks Janice and Jeanette. I am in West Country. I am looking at film of the other side of my family with LDS here (after ordering it from Suffolk parish records) It was probably cheaper than ringing Suffolk parish, LDS charged me £2.40, and I can have the film for a month. A very good deal I thought and they were very helpful at the centre. Thanks again. Rosalie

That would be the cheaper option Rosalie. Or you could ring the records office for that area and ask them to do a search for you. Find out what they charge first though! Jeanette x

It depends on where the place of the baptism is, and where you live, as to what your options are. If you can't get to the local record office or somewhere where the films are, then you should be able to order them through the LDS. I haven't done this myself but I believe if you search the library on their website you will find out what they hold for the place you are interested in. Janice

Thanks for the reply Janice, sorry to be thick, do I have to order parish records to view at LDS Family Centre near me? Ros

Rosalie, For 1723 there won't be any additional info other than what you have found. If you know the place of birth you will need to trawl through the parish registers to try and find a baptism. Janice

I can find my ancestors marriage 1723 on IGI site, but not his birth is there a way I can search for it or should I send for film of marriage details and find out that way? Can anyone tell me the answer please. Thanks Rosalie
