I've not had any problems. Obviously, I'm one of the lucky few. Personally I think they're more worth the money that 1837 simply because of the indexing. All 1837 seemed to have done was scan in the images and put them up on the net, no real hard work when into transcribing them or anything. Not used the image viewer, don't see the point. But I might be on my own there.

I'm also one of the lucky ones who seems to have had no problems at all with this site. I find it very useful and far cheaper and easier than 1837 for the years they have transcribed Lou

Its been gr8 for me too - only once had an image not display. They are VERY aware they have problems, they launched a 'companion website' recently - www.familyrelatives.info Heres a selection of its content. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS I cannot see an image. All I can see is a small icon I have downloaded the DJVU plugin browser but the image does not appear? I have not received an email from your website. What can I do? I have forgotten my password. What can I do? My account is locked. What can I do? I have requested a new password and have not received an email with a new password - What can I do? I have not received an invoice when I purchased from your website - What can I do? I cannot find the Surname entry in the 1921-1983 period that I wanted. Why is this? A message appears ‘Session Time Out’. What can I do? How should I set up my browser for Familyrelatives.org? . Web Browser Issue Firewalls/Antivirus Software DJVU Plugin Microsoft IE 6 Norton Antivirus 2005 Cannot Download the Plugin Microsoft IE 5.5 McAffe Cannot see the test image Microsoft IE 5.0 Cannot view the image Browser Settings Familyrelatives.info is not responsible for the content of external internet sites XP users cannot download DJVU Plugin or view image Miscellaneous Searching ISP Forgotten Password Cannot find a Surname in 1921-1983 AOL Session Timeout Hotmail NTL Yahoo Mail

I have never been able to get onto the site, session always timed out, then they sent me two different passwords neither of which worked. I emailed them and have never had an answer. The site is too much hassle. Christine

I have had same probs but I have to say they gave me a temporary password which worked and also some free credits. Instead of using the automatic email complaint address try this one: customerservice001 at familyrelatives(.)org (GR wont let it be printed properly so, hope you follow)

Is there no one we can complain to as I feel it is so unfair for so many people to be losing money because of this site not working. Their seems to be one for problems with telephones and gas and electricty is there one for people having trouble with Internet Fraud.

Hi Denise, I have lost units as well, I contacted them, but got no reply, apology or credits returned to me. I have not used the site since. Gail.

Am I the only one who filds the site extremely useful? I only ever use that for BMDs 1866-1920 now. I only check FreeBMD to find the spouse on a marriage, or for info pre-1866. I have found countless rellies on that website. Granted, I don't use it to display images, so I may not have experienced what you seem to have, but I'll keep using it till I run out of rellies to find :)

Hi Denise Had loads of problems with this web site along with unshown images, difficulty in getting onto the website and e mailing them with complaints with no replies. When I tried to buy £5.00 worth of units it kept telling me that my card had been declined, in ignorance when my email was sent detailing the transaction I assumed it was to tell me I had been declined, so I didnt read it, what I didnt know until trying a further 3 times to purchase units that I had been successful 3 times. Hence I have £15.00 worth of units for 3 months and as other users have said the searches are not that accurate, it just tells you all the surnames regardless of christian names. It tells you on their homepage how accurate the searches are. What a waste of time. They should be told. Vanessa

don't think me rude saying i'm glad i'm not the only one having probs I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I think it would be nice of the site as it has been brought to their attention that it is not working properly to put a notice up saying that the site is down until it is fixed as it seems many of us are wasting our money buying credits for a service that isn't working. It wouldn't be so bad if they would just reply to e-mails even if they just said sorry got a prob will be fixing it asap.
