i have 3 irish birth certificates for my nana, and her brother and sisiter. the fathers name is the same on all three but the mother's name is different on all three but the maiden name is the same. the names are nellie burke, ellen burke and kathleen burke. was it possible for 1 person to go under 3 different names in ireland in the 20's or a fluke that my great grandfather married 3 sisters from the same family. many thanks michelle |

I think Nellie can be a pet name for Ellen, so these could have been the same person but I don't know about Kathleen. That's my name and no one has ever shortened it to either Ellen or Nellie. Kath. x |

I have seen Ellens listed as Nellie, so they could be the same person. - Not sure about Kathleen though. |
