Thankyou Barbara, but I am still having problems. Each time I try to import the tree, a message appears saying that no individual matches anyone appearing in the tree! I only wish I had not deleted my tree in GR!!!!

Noooooooo I have not. I am a bit of a dipstick as far as technology goes, how do I get started on creating such a file? Thanks for your help.

I have just purchased FMT 2005 followed the GR instructions to delete my GR in order to import the tree from FTM but I am now left with no details in GR because, try as I might, I cannot import the info from Familytreemaker. Help please.
